Terrestrial Energy Completes Safeguards Work at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories

Oakville, Ontario, Canada – August 31, 2022 –Terrestrial Energy has completed an evaluation of its Integral Molten Salt Reactor’s (IMSR®) nuclear material safeguards in collaboration with the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) with support from CNL’s Canadian Nuclear Research Initiative (CNRI).

“Safeguards” is an international regulatory framework administered in Canada by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and is verified by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) under international treaty arrangements.

CALGARY, Alberta, Canada – August 11, 2022 – Terrestrial Energy, an industry-leading nuclear technology company, and Invest Alberta, the Government of Alberta’s crown corporation promoting high-value investments, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support commercialization of Terrestrial Energy’s Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR®) Generation IV small modular reactor (SMR) plant in Western Canada.

Terrestrial Energy’s IMSR® plant has unique potential to supply the heat and power (cogeneration) needs of many industrial activities, including those in the Alberta oil and gas, and petrochemical sectors.

Terrestrial Energy Appoints Managing Director to Spearhead Commercialization of New Nuclear Technology in the UK

Oxford, United Kingdom, January 18, 2022 – Terrestrial Energy has appointed a senior nuclear industry executive as Managing Director of UK operations as the company advances its new nuclear technology.

Michael Drury joins the company from the UK National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL), where he led the business development function for New Build and Advanced Nuclear Technologies, including Small Modular Reactors and Advanced Modular Reactors.

The appointment comes as Terrestrial Energy moves forward with the development and commercialization of its Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR®) Generation IV nuclear technology in the UK.

Mr Drury has extensive experience of strategy and execution at the intersection of industry and government in the nuclear industry at both NNL and previously at Nuvia.
